Taiwan-listed electronics manufacturer FIC Global Inc. (FICG) has officially opened a manufacturing facility operated by its subsidiary PRO3C (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. at i-Park @ Senai Airport City in Johor, Malaysia. The facility passed customer qualification in November 2025, began production at the end of that year and entered mass production in the first quarter of 2026. FICG said the site is moving toward full-scale output in the second half of 2026. It currently operates eight surface-mount technology (SMT) lines, with capacity increasing according to customer orders and market demand. PRO3C is developing manufacturing capabilities for 800G, 1.6T and 3.2T flip-chip optical transceivers, co-packaged optics (CPO), linear pluggable optics (LPO) and silicon photonics (SiPh). These technologies address demand for higher-speed data transmission in AI infrastructure and data centers. The opening forms part of FICG’s Johor–Singapore operating strategy, which divides manufacturing and engineering execution between Malaysia and a planned Innovation and Supply Chain Centre in Singapore. PRO3C will handle manufacturing, mass production and delivery, while the Singapore centre is intended to focus on innovation, strategic sourcing, supply chain management and international customer engagement. “Today we are opening more than a factory; we are switching on the Johor node of a cross-border platform that will serve our global customers from both sides of the Causeway,” Leo Chien, Chairman of FIC Global, said during the opening ceremony. By combining Johor’s manufacturing strengths with Singapore’s capabilities in innovation, strategic sourcing and global connectivity, we are building a faster, more flexible and resilient regional operating platform,” he added in a statement. The expansion follows memoranda of understanding signed at the ASEAN Conference 2026 in Singapore in July. PRO3C signed an MOU with AME Elite Consortium Bhd, while FICG signed a separate agreement with JTC Corp. UOB is supporting the expansion through its cross-border banking services and regional network. FICG also plans to work with local suppliers, develop engineering talent and apply its existing manufacturing management practices and quality systems at the Johor site. Recruitment will proceed in phases as production expands. The company said its combined operations in Singapore and Malaysia could eventually support more than 1,000 employees, depending on market demand and operational requirements.
