Entegris, Inc. today announced an expansion of its strategic partnership with Kioxia Corporation to accelerate materials innovation for future generations of BiCS FLASH 3D flash memory and next-generation computing. As artificial intelligence expands across data centers, enterprise systems and edge computing, memory is becoming increasingly important to system performance and power efficiency. Future memory architectures will require advances in device design, materials and process technology to meet growing performance and capacity requirements. The expanded collaboration is designed to align future device requirements more closely with materials innovation. It combines Entegris’ capabilities in materials science, computational modeling, simulation and semiconductor process solutions with Kioxia’s expertise in memory technology and process integration. AI, advanced modeling and digital-twin technologies will be central to the collaboration. The companies will use these capabilities to explore a broader materials design space, identify promising candidates and guide experimental evaluation. By connecting computational discovery with physical testing and device-level learning, the collaboration aims to create a more integrated virtual-to-physical development environment. This approach is intended to improve learning efficiency and accelerate the evaluation of materials and process technologies for future memory architectures. The Geino Technology Center in Mie Prefecture, Japan, will serve as a focal point for the expanded collaboration. Established to support closer collaboration on future memory technologies, the center will connect Kioxia’s future device requirements with Entegris’ materials expertise, AI-enabled modeling, digital-twin technologies and experimental validation capabilities. This development model is intended to advance the materials and process technologies required for future generations of BiCS FLASH and next-generation memory. Olivier Blachier, President of Materials Solutions and SVP, Chief Innovation Officer at Entegris, said, “AI and digital-twin technologies are creating new opportunities in materials development. Our expanded collaboration with Kioxia will connect computational discovery, experimental learning and device validation, enabling us to explore more possibilities and learn faster.” Minori Kajimoto, General Manager of the Advanced Memory Development Center at Kioxia Corporation, said, “Advancing memory technologies will require breakthroughs in device architecture, materials and process technology. By combining Kioxia’s deep memory expertise in memory technology with Entegris’ strengths in advanced materials capabilities, AI and advanced modeling, we aim to accelerate the innovation and unlock new possibilities needed for future generations of BiCS FLASH.” The post Entegris Expands Partnership with Kioxia appeared first on Semiconductor Digest .
