TDK Corporation has launched the TDK-Lambda CCG60, a 60 W isolated DC-DC converter that delivers twice the power of the CCG30 in the same 1 × 1-inch footprint. The compact converter targets applications where board space, power density and thermal performance are critical. The CCG60 gives European electronics designers a way to increase power without redesigning board layouts. Its efficiency and shielding also help address thermal management and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) challenges. Higher power density in compact designs Measuring 25.4 × 25.4 mm and just 13 mm high, the 30 g CCG60 provides up to 60 W while occupying less than half the mounting area of selected competing converters, according to TDK-Lambda. Two 4:1 input voltage ranges cover different system requirements. The CCG60-24 operates from 9 to 36 Vdc, while the CCG60-48 supports 18 to 76 Vdc. Both versions offer 3.3 V, 5 V, 12 V, 15 V and 24 V nominal outputs. Efficiency reaches 93%, helping minimize power losses and heat generation. The converter operates from -40°C to +85°C, delivering 60 W at 60°C and 30 W at 85°C under specified conditions. Both convection and forced-air cooling are supported. EMI shielding simplifies compliance Six-sided metal shielding reduces radiated and conducted electromagnetic interference, potentially simplifying EMC testing and shortening development cycles. The CCG60 integrates remote on/off control, adjustable output voltage and overcurrent protection. Input-to-output isolation withstands 1500 Vdc for one minute, while input-to-case and output-to-case withstand voltage is 1000 Vdc. Targeting industrial and communications equipment Certified to IEC, EN, UL and CSA 62368-1 standards, the converter supports operation at altitudes up to 5000 m. Target applications include industrial equipment, test and measurement systems, communications infrastructure and broadcast equipment.
