STL (Sterlite Technologies) has expanded its Neuralis Data Center portfolio with pre-terminated fiber trunk assemblies supporting fiber counts from 48 to 6,912. The new high-density cabling solutions are designed to help hyperscale and enterprise data centers accommodate growing bandwidth demands from AI, cloud computing and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads. The launch addresses a key challenge for data center operators: increasing network capacity while reducing installation time and making better use of limited cable routing space. For European data center operators and infrastructure designers, the assemblies offer an approach to scaling optical connectivity without significantly expanding existing pathways, trays and conduits. High-density fiber for space-constrained data centers The portfolio includes two product families covering indoor data hall connectivity and larger-scale indoor/outdoor installations. STL’s indoor pre-terminated fiber trunk assemblies support 48 to 576 fibers, with cable diameters ranging from 5.8 mm to 12.2 mm. Designed for high-density MMC, MPO and LC terminations, the assemblies meet ANSI/ICEA S-83-596 requirements and are available with UL OFNP plenum or OFNR riser-rated cables. For campus, inter-building and inter-row connections, STL offers indoor/outdoor assemblies supporting 144 to 6,912 fibers. The highest-density version accommodates 6,912 fibers in a single cable with an outer diameter of 32 mm. These assemblies feature OFNR/LSZH jacketing and UL 1651-rated sunlight resistance, making them suitable for installations requiring outdoor exposure. Factory termination targets faster deployment Both product families are factory-terminated and 100% tested before delivery, reducing the need for on-site connector installation and helping operators accelerate network deployment. Connector options include MMC, MTP/MPO and LC, with Base-8, Base-12, Base-16 and Base-24 configurations to support different switch and patch-panel architectures. The assemblies are available with bend-insensitive ITU-T G.657.A2 single-mode fiber in 200 µm or 250 µm formats. Indoor versions also support OM4 multimode fiber for shorter-distance connections. STL has integrated its patented IBR rollable ribbon technology into both product families. The color-coded bonded ribbon design is intended to simplify fiber identification and improve splicing efficiency in high-fiber-count installations. Ultra Low Loss connector performance options are also available for applications with demanding optical loss budgets. Supporting AI infrastructure expansion The new assemblies reflect the growing importance of cable density and installation efficiency as data center operators expand optical infrastructure to support AI workloads. “Every data center customer we work with is trying to solve the same equation – more capacity, less time. That’s exactly what this extension of Neuralis portfolio is built around. Our Pre-Terminated Trunk Assemblies are designed for dense networks, they are pre-tested, ready to connect on arrival, and flexible. This is connectivity built for how data centers are actually being constructed today; high density, tight timelines, zero room for error”, said Dr Badri Gomatam, CTO, STL. The expanded portfolio gives operators additional options for increasing fiber capacity within existing physical infrastructure while limiting field termination work.
