China tightens drone export controls, extending restrictions to critical components, technologies

China's Ministry of Commerce, General Administration of Customs, and military authorities jointly announced revised export controls on drones on October 19, covering complete aircraft, critical components, software, and technologies meeting specified technical thresholds. The measures will take effect on November 18, 2026, requiring export licenses for affected items.
